For passive fire contractors
Survey it, fix it, prove it. All from site.
One app for passive fire work: fire doors, firestopping, fire-rated walls and ceilings, and intumescent coatings. Built by a surveyor on live hospital jobs. Your crew records the work on their phone. The office prices the fixes. Your client gets a report they can check, on your letterhead.
Built in Ireland. Works with no signal. We get your company set up, crews working the same week.

Sound familiar?
It’s six o’clock and the van is full of paper. The gap readings for level 2 are in a notebook. The firestopping photos are on a lad’s phone, and he’s on holidays. Nobody can say which coat the DFT readings on the steel were taken after. The main contractor wants proof before they pay. The fire officer wants a record you can stand over. And the office is pricing last week’s remedials from memory.
That’s where passive fire records go wrong. Not on site. Afterwards, in the paperwork.
One app, every passive fire trade
Start with the trade you do. Add the others when you’re ready. More on each: the fire door inspection app, firestopping, walls and partitions, intumescent coatings on steel, remedial works and doorset ordering and scheduling.
What we believe
A spreadsheet or a notebook can’t prove what happened to a door.
So every door, seal, wall and beam keeps its own history: what it was built to, what was found, what was fixed, who did it, and the photos. It stays with that element for the life of the building.

Why I built it
I’m Michael McCarthy. I work on live hospital projects in Cork: fire doors, firestopping, fire dampers. I built DoorInspec+ because the tools I needed didn’t exist. Generic apps didn’t know what an intumescent strip or a tested detail was, and spreadsheets fell apart the minute something was redone. Every screen in this app has been used on a real job before it reaches you.

How a job runs
- 1. Put the drawings in. Every door, seal, wall and beam pinned where it really is.
- 2. Record on site. Check by check, with photos. On fire doors the likely faults come up first, so you’re not scrolling.
- 3. Fix it there and then. Pick the fix from your own list. The office sees it priced from your rate card, with the photo and the exact location attached.
- 4. Prove it. Re-survey the repair and the record shows who fixed it, who checked it and when, with before and after photos.
- 5. Hand it over. A report in your company’s name, and your client can see the work online.

What changes for you
- Get paid without the chase. When the main contractor asks for proof, the photos and records are already there.
- Stand over every element. Every change to a door, seal, wall or beam is logged with who made it and when.
- Stop re-surveying from scratch. On fire doors, the next visit starts from the last survey’s answers.
- Protect your name. It records what was found and what was done. It never signs off the result for you.

Questions
Does it work on Android?
iPhone app in final review. Android coming soon. The office side runs in a web browser on any computer.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. The phone records with no signal, photos included, and sends it all when the signal comes back.
Whose name is on the reports?
Yours. Reports go out on your letterhead, with no mark of ours on them. You can email them from the app and see when they’re opened.
Can a record be changed after the fact?
Not quietly. Every change is kept, with who made it and when. A submitted survey is frozen, and an issued document keeps the words and figures it was issued with.
Does it work with Q-Mark and BM TRADA ART numbers?
Yes. A fire door survey records the Q-Mark plugs and certificate number. BM TRADA ART numbers are there when your company turns them on; they’re off unless you do.
Where is our data kept?
In the EU: your records are held in Google’s Belgian data centre. Our GDPR data processing agreement and our sub-processors are published.
Can we get our records out?
Yes, at any time and without charge. Ask and we send your records in a standard, machine-readable format, with the documents it produced for you, within 30 days.
How often should fire doors be inspected in Ireland?
No fixed interval is set in Irish law. The duty under section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1981, as amended in 2003, is a continuing one: fire safety measures must be applied at all times. Our guide explains what that means for a fire door: How often should fire doors be inspected in Ireland?
Can I use it just for firestopping, or just for coatings?
Yes. Each project uses only the trades you switch on for it, so a firestopping job shows firestopping and nothing else.
Can my client see the work without logging into the app?
Yes. Your client gets an email invite and signs in to their own read-only website to see the work. They never need the app.
Is it priced per user?
No. It’s priced per company, not per head, so you can bring the whole crew.
What do I need to get started?
We open your company’s account and invite your first manager. Then we walk you through adding your drawings, rate card and team.
