Michael McCarthy, trading as DoorInspec+, registered business name number 768230, of Bantry, Co. Cork, is the controller of the personal data described on this page.

Contact for anything on this page: support@doorinspect.ie

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. We are not required to, and the contact above reaches the person responsible.

If you use DoorInspec+ at work, read this first

If your employer gave you a DoorInspec+ account, your employer decides what is recorded about you and why. They are the controller. We hold that data on their instructions and we cannot change it, delete it or hand it over on our own initiative.

That includes the record of which inspections you submitted and when, and the location and time recorded when you clock in and out.

If you want to see what is held about you, or you have a concern about being monitored at work, ask your employer. If you contact us directly we will tell them, because they are the only party who can decide how to answer.

Deleting your account

You can ask for your account to be deleted in the DoorInspec+ app: Settings, then Delete my account. You confirm it with your password.

Your organisation's managers are told, and one of them can complete it and hand on your open work. If your organisation has not completed it, the deletion completes automatically on the 30th day after you asked. Until then you can use the app as normal, and cancel in the same place.

When it is done:

The locations recorded when you clocked in and out are deleted too. The times are kept.

Your organisation also keeps your name, your role and the day your account was deleted, so that its screens can go on naming you on those records.

If you are the only active manager of your organisation, your account cannot be deleted on its own: the organisation would have nobody to run it. Make another person a manager first. Or delete the organisation, in the same place, by typing its name to confirm. That deletes the organisation and everything in it: every project and its records (surveys, findings, sign-offs, reports and timesheets), its documents and files, and every account in it, yours included. Nothing of it is kept in the app. Reports, quotes and invoices already emailed stay with whoever received them. This cannot be undone.

If you cannot sign in, write to support@doorinspect.ie and we will pass your request to your organisation.

Deleting an account or an organisation does not delete what we hold for ourselves. That is described below, and we keep it for the periods under "How long we keep it".

Everything below this line is about the small amount of data we hold for ourselves.

We do not do marketing profiling, we do not build a profile of you, and no decision affecting you is made about you by automated means.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Our sub-processor list is at doorinspect.ie/sub-processors and is kept current.

Where it is held

In the European Union, except for crash reports, which are covered in their own section below.

Where a provider accesses data from outside the European Economic Area for support purposes, that access is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses in that provider's own terms.

Crash reports from the app

This is off unless you turn it on. When the app first opens on a device it asks once, and you can change the answer at any time in Settings.

If you allow it, then when the app crashes or hits an error it sends a diagnostic report so we can find the fault and fix it.

What is sent

What is never sent

Who processes it. Google Ireland Limited, under the Firebase Crashlytics service. Google may process and store these reports outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The privacy and data protection laws in some of those countries may differ from the laws in the country where you live. That transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses in Google's own terms.

Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it in Settings at any time, and the app stops sending immediately. Withdrawing it does not affect anything you have already recorded, and nothing about the app stops working.

How long. Google retains crash reports for 90 days.

If you say no, the app never asks again, and it works exactly as it does if you say yes.

How long we keep it

Your rights

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, or at dataprotection.ie. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
